WINE AWAY THE DAY IN CEMAES BAY

VINEYARD

The vineyard started life as a single row on a hillside to the east of the village of Cemaes, on the Isle of Anglesey. The vines did not grow and were replaced the following year by more suited varieties. Numerous mistakes later we now have approximately two acres of vines growing.
We continue to experiment with newer varieties, having some 20 or so diffent types on trial.
Productive vines are;
Madeleine Angevine
Triomphe de Alsac
Seyval Blanc
Rondo
Phoenix
In polytunnels we have
Merlot
Cab Sav
Pinot Gris
And Charddonnay

By the winery for those visitors that do not want the long tour we have short rows of Pinot Noir and Charddonnay.
It is now February and our pruning is about to begin, if we dont get this right we do not get any grapes so it is an intense time for
